Golf Changes

The ting i would like to discuss is the changes in golf. Has the game really changed? Well to be honest the game it5selves has not changed at all during the years. The size of the hole is the same. Only materials has improved and with that the equipment. Also the players, "We" are more fit and aware of the need for a healthy living today. So in this way there are changes.

What is the game about today? It has tramsformed to a more leisure sport and all over the globe we want the game to be more family oriented. How can we do this?

Listen golf Architects, when routing a course, why not try to make it 3 time 6 instead of 2 times 9. Or at least make one time that hole no 6 or 15 (in the case where where 9 is close to the club house). This will invite younger players (kids) to play more. And please install the Family tees and make the par 3's no longer than 60m, par 4's 150-200m and par 5's 200 - 350m. This will make the play faster and more fun. Here we can compare to US kids who have made such a success with their program.

It is of course fun to play courses like the new course in Indiana US where my friend Pete Dye has made course over 8000 yards. But there also are tees that plays 4000 yards, so there is a choice.

Jack Nicklaus once wanted to make the Cayman ball and courses a standard and why not have this on a Resort. It will make the game faster and it does not require the huge amount of land.

I will definetely make this a standard on one of the courses i will be part of when i am returning to Europe in the spring.

So if you have the idea of building a Cayman course just let me know and we can join forces and do some great moves.
